For painting, the most suitable is a medium-tack marking tape made from thinner crepe paper. Car paint shops require a high-tack masking tape, which will remain in place even under pressure from spray painting, and the paint will not bleed under masking tape. For outdoor use, it is necessary to seek out a UV-resistant tape.
